"It's not that bad."
"It will pass."
Even if this is all "true," let's be honest: we have all been through some crazy sh*t.
Counseling is about getting an expert to help guide you through pain, numbness, helplessness, and feelings of dissatisfaction. I am here to help you move towards the person you want to become and the life you want to live.
Ultimately, counseling is what you want it to be. There is no "right" way.
“Something feels off.” If you’ve felt this before, know that you are not alone. Many of my clients come to me with this feeling.
Those who are navigating life transitions, as well as those facing anxiety or depression.
Clients often feel like something is wrong with them or like outsiders. They reflect on the bigger picture of life but struggle to find ways to incorporate those insights into their daily lives.
My approach helps uncover and address underlying traumas, guiding you toward healing and living a fulfilling life.
I engage individuals and couples in the present moment to learn how to reduce anxiety and depression and improve emotional well-being—access to increased self-awareness, self-regulation tools, and an ability to embody your authentic self.
My approach is unique in that it is directive, interactive, and insight-oriented. It focuses on the mind, body, and spirit and utilizes psychodynamic, somatic, relational, and attachment-based modalities.
I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in The District of Columbia and Virginia.
I have my B.A. in Psychology from Meredith College and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. I hold a license in the District of Columbia for Professional Counseling. I studied at the Washington School of Psychiatry in the Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy program and am a member of the American Counseling Association. I hold certifications in Somatic Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, and trauma-informed therapy.
I support people and couples dealing with relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. For couples, I address challenges such as communication breakdowns, loss of intimacy and trust, and recurring patterns that aren’t working.
My focus is on uncovering and addressing the emotional obstacles that hinder your wellbeing. By working through these challenges, I aim to help you build more satisfying, fulfilling, and healthy relationships with yourself and others.
I help individuals who are struggling with low self-esteem or patterns of behavior that are a barrier to being their best self.
How to handle and reduce conflict, increase healthy communication styles, increase connection and intimacy and enhance quality of relationship.
